Configuring the Server

In order to expose context variables from AggreGate Server in the form of OPC tags using the OPC server, OPC server must be configured to use AggreGate Server as a data source.

  • Run the program Tibbo OPC Server Configurator. In a typical installation this can be found under All Programs > Tibbo OPC Server

  • In Tibbo OPC Server Configurator, navigate to File > New Connection > Server

  • Enter the following parameters:

    • Description. Human readable name to identify the AggreGate Server serving as the data source

    • IP Address or Host Name. Network address of the AggreGate Server

    • Port Number. The network port used for communication by the AggreGate Server

    • Username. Username of an AggreGate Server user

    • Password. Password of the specified AggreGate Server user.

  • Press OK.

OPC server doesn't support SSL encryption. You should enable non-secure client communication in AggreGate Server.

  • If the connection to AggreGate Server was successful, the left panel of Tibbo OPC Server will display a tree of agent variables which can be exposed as OPC tags. To expose variables from AggreGate Server as OPC tags, “drag-and-drop” the desired variables into the right panel.

Variables added to the right panel will be displayed as a table with the following columns:

Column Name

Description

Name

Name of the variable in AggreGate Server

Alias

The OPC tag name of the variable

Value Field

Path

Indicates the AggreGate context path where the variable is located

Visible Path

The hierarchical address that uniquely identifies the OPC tag of the variable within the OPC server

These fields are for information only and are not intended for editing.

  • To remove a tag, use the Remove action from the context menu

  • To expose the selected variables as OPC tags, click File > Register and then File > Save Configuration.
